About Me

Tex-pat in London is a blog all about what it is like for me, a Texan, living and working in London.  I moved here to marry the man of my dreams, who is the sweetest bearded man I have ever met, you will know him as The Captain.  This is where I will chronicle my adventures both mundane and extraordinary and navigate my new life as a newlywed in a new city.

I thought moving to London was going to be super easy, but it took a lot of planning, waiting and purging.  Stick around and watch me as I become a full fledged Londoner while holding on to my Texas roots.

My husband and I were in a long distance relationship for 2.5 years before we decided to marry and move me across the pond.  This is my first marriage, first move out of the US, first time living with a significant other and the first time The Captain and I are living in the same country.  A lot of firsts, I know, but I am excited and as prepared as I can be, so let the life begin!

I am an elementary/primary school teacher. I love to read and watch terrible television. I am a Ravenclaw. I love to cook and try new recipes. I often find myself wandering around the city, there wasn't much walking in Houston so I am really enjoying stretching my legs.
